Restrictions for joining

LVAYAH requires all of our members to join out of their own will and desire. We do not allow parents to join on behalf of their children. And we also do not accept into our groups supporters who do not have ADHD and/or Autism, except those wishing to volunteer or who join in the future to apply to work for us. Only Autistic and/or ADHD young adults can join the Facebook groups, as stated in the title. All members of LVAYAH must be aged 18-21 or 21-28 and in the corresponding group.

LVAYAH members and guests invited to hangouts must be responsible for their own support needs or bring someone to support them with their needs, and must be able to socialize to some extent and create connections and relationships and think at an adult level, and be able to reason and have logical thinking. Any mental ages below 18 are not allowed in this group. This is not to be confused with the person's physical age, but a person's physical age also must be 18 or older.

Any young adults with ADHD or Autism who also have any additional disabilities are always welcome. Although, due to the groups' lack of funding, we will be very limited on accommodations we're able to provide. For anyone who is Deaf or nonverbal who signs, they must bring their own interpreters to hangouts if they need and/or want one. You are welcome to reach out to me (the admin) in private to ask for accommodations for any disability you may have. LVAYAH won't promise that we can provide accommodations, let alone perfectly, but we will try our best to.

We recognize that LVAYAH is not perfect and has much to improve on as it's only in the startup stage, so we ask LVAYAH's members and anyone else willing to provide feedback on how we can improve, and even tips for what to expect for upcoming challenges we may have on this journey.

Once LVAYAH has reached 7 members including my (the admin) siblings and I, we will have a celebratory hangout taking place in April or May. And once we have funding, we will have better locations to host the hangouts.

Hangouts will only be posted in the direct Facebook group for privacy reasons. You must be invited if you're not directly apart of the group.

In general, members are allowed to bring 1 plus-one to hangouts who must be autistic or have adhd.
Members are also allowed to bring a support/comfort person, who does not need to be autistic or have adhd. Any support or comfort people must fill out a support/comfort form (link) to verify legitimacy so this exception isn't taken advantage of.

Will post more updates in posts to come! Let me know if you have any additional questions!
